Art Alliance classes are held on schedule when the Greensboro Cultural Center is open. The Greensboro Cultural Center is closed on Federal Holidays. To view the list of these dates.
Youth fine art classes are held in room 127, located on the first floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center. Each session has six 1.5-hour classes. Class size is limited to 8 students and preregistration is required, with payment due before the first class. Supplies are included in the fee. If you register your child and plans change, please let us know before the start of the session. Students should be prepared to have a fun and educational fine arts experience.
YA2 Printmaking series– starts March 13
Ages 13–16 | Wednesdays, 5:00–6:30pm | Instructor: Jennifer Pfeiffer
Throughout the six week class we will explore Mark making on different surfaces with using things other than your traditional pencil or pen we will explore how to use line to create images and create depth within our printed images.
We will explore three different print making techniques to calligraphy, mono-printing, and Linocuts.
YA3 Youth Drawing and Painting – starts March 14
Ages 8–12 | Thursdays, 5:00–6:30pm | Instructor: Kathryn Gauldin
This class is a great introduction to the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Students will explore the use of a variety of materials and how to construct their own drawings and paintings using the foundations learned. Students will also learn about artists of the past and present so that they have a greater understanding of what art has been and is today.
Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required. Scholarships may be available.
