Art Alliance classes are held on schedule when the Greensboro Cultural Center is open. The Greensboro Cultural Center is closed on Federal Holidays. To view the list of these dates , please click here.
Youth fine art classes are held in room 127, located on the first floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center. Each session has six 1.5-hour classes. Class size is limited to 8 students and preregistration is required, with payment due before the first class. Supplies are included in the fee. If you register your child and plans change, please let us know before the start of the session. Students should be prepared to have a fun and educational fine arts experience.
YA1 Homeschool Drawing and Painting – starts January 8
Ages 8–15 | Mondays, 1:30–3 pm | Instructor: Kathryn Gauldin
In this class, students will explore a variety of drawing and painting techniques that include line, color mixing and use, visual texture, and pattern. Along with hand-on drawing, we will discuss noted artists in historical and contemporary art. Students are encouraged to bring drawing journals, sketches, and special items to discuss and share.
YA2 Teen Drawing and Painting- star January 10
Ages 13–16 | Wednesdays, 5:00–6:30pm | Instructor: Tristin Miller
Students will explore the use of a variety of materials and how to construct their own drawing and paintings using the foundations learned. This is a great opportunity for students who have a strong interest in drawing and painting to push forward in their skills and to have a taste for an academic approach to the fine arts. Students will also learn about artists of the past and present so that they have a greater understanding of what art has been and is today.
YA3 Youth Drawing and Painting – starts January 11
Ages 8–12 | Thursdays, 5:00–6:30pm | Instructor: Tristin Miller
This class is a great introduction to the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Students will explore the use of a variety of materials and how to construct their own drawings and paintings using the foundations learned. Students will also learn about artists of the past and present so that they have a greater understanding of what art has been and is today.
Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required. Scholarships may be available.
